Our friend Justine D. is a native New Yorker and a long time DJ and event promoter who recently discovered a love of baking. After studying her craft in NYC at the French Culinary Institute,  this Fall she has decided to hone her baguette and pastry skills at Carratié in the town of Bézier located in the South of France.

On her blog, In The Kitchen At Parties, whose title is based on a 1980 song by Jona Lewie, Justine combines her love of music, food and travel as she explores her new surroundings in Bézier and beyond. It’s a good read and a fun way to explore the quieter side of France and discover the difference between Crème Fouettee and Crème Chantilly while listening to Morrissey, The Motels and Midnight Magic.
