High Plains Drifter (1973)
Why have I been watching Westerns??? I don’t know, but High Plains Drifter, the 1973 classic directed by and starring Clint Eastwood is a real winner. In the movie, Clint Eastwood’s character is a mysterious gunslinger who wanders into the small mining town of Lago and proceeds to kill, rape and swindle the townspeople to teach them a lesson. He also paints the town red, literally and renames it “Hell.”
The movie was filmed on the shores of the beautiful and eerie Mono Lake in California and filled with wide open landscape shots, bright blue skies and colorful, Western scenery.
