The Habita hotel in Monterrey, Mexico was recommended to us by Jonathan K. Jonathan is a producer and musician in his own right and sound engineer extraordinaire for The Rapture and The Presets among others.  The hotel is part of the hip Grupo Habita chain that represents some of the coolest hotels in Mexico including other Cliktrips’s favorites like Boca Chica in Acapulco and Condesa DF in Mexico City. Habita is also a member of Design Hotels.

Here is what Jonathan had to say about Habita: “With floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the beautiful mountains, Habita instantly became my favorite hotel — even before I’d put my bags down. The room was beautifully modern, but completely minimal. With the bedside iPod dock, I could listen to some great music, and from the glass walled bathroom I could enjoy the amazing views.  The rooftop bar has incredible food and plays un-offensive house music and has two infinity pools. Incredible vibe.”

Sounds great! The rack rates start around $187/night, but we found rooms for $122/night including breakfast by booking one of the Design Hotel discount packages available on the hotel’s site.
