Jacques Renault’s Pick: Marvin in Washington, D.C.

Jacques Renault and his collaborative partner Marcos Cabral were in Washington, D.C. playing a show at the fantastic U Street Music Hall, when they stumbled upon an amazing restaurant called Marvin. Named after Marvin Gaye, this classic bistro pays homage to Marvin Gaye’s years of exile in Belgium and the soulful heritage of its neighborhood. Marvin focuses on Southern style dishes like shrimp and grits and Belgian specialties like moules frites. To quote Jacques, “Marcos and I had fried chicken and waffles (our first time ever) and it was just so fantastic we still talk about it. Marvin is around the corner from the club [U Street Music Hall] at 14th and U, and I recommend everyone to go and try it. I’ll never forget it.”
Jacques Renault lives in New York City and is a DJ, producer, one half of Runaway, and resident DJ and curator of the Let’s Play House party. A big fan of all things house and disco, Jacques has released music on DFA, Italians Do It Better, Wurst and his own label On the Prowl. Keep up with him at www.jacquesrenault.com and go see him at Let’s Play House on Friday, April 29 at Le Bain in NYC.
