One of our favorite travel sites, Black Tomato posted a really great article called Travel Fuel: What Inspires Your Travel Dreams? It’s a four part series focused on music, art, film and their current travel fuel, literature. The article focuses on books that inspire us to get out there and see the world by interweaving landscape and settings into their story lines. Books where the background becomes just as important as the plot like Out of Africa, Motorcycle Diaries, Lost In Translation, All the Pretty Horses and Of Mice and Men. There are also guest book reviews, iconic quotes, and photos inspired by literary scenes (see below). Looks like our Summer reading list just got a little longer!
