Cliktrips likes the beach, palm trees, mountain hikes, desertscapes, forest walks, the jungle, tropical islands, swimming pools, lake swims, rocky seaside cliffs, sunsets, soundbaths, hot tubs, the occasional cold plunge, bicycle rides, road trips, spritzes of all kinds, lots of snacks and the colors pink and green. Cliktrips also enjoys late night techno parties, balearic rooftop hangs, weird weekenders, tropical sounds, trippy disco, and dancing ‘til dawn.

Akounak is the Nigerian remake of Purple Rain

Akounak is the Nigerian remake of Purple Rain

“A revolutionary story of guitars, motorcycles, cell phones – and the music of a new generation” is how director Christopher Kirkley describes his West African re-imagining of Purple Rain. The film is set in the desert of Niger and follows musician Mdou Moctar as he travels around on his purple bike with his guitar battling other musicians in the Tuareg style of music: guitar-driven, rhythmic, psychedelic.

The film was originally backed on Kickstarter and released in early 2015. Peep this wild clip from the film below.
