Desert Oasis House in Palm Springs, CA

Desert Oasis House in Palm Springs, CA

Originally published April 2010

Last week, we trekked out to beautiful Palm Springs for the Coachella music festival and stayed at the Desert Oasis house.

The festival was cool (if highly unorganized), but in between sets by Jay Z, LCD Soundsystem, Erol Alkan, Hot Chip, Little Boots and Plastikman, we were happy to be able to retreat back to this cute and modern 3 bedroom, 2 bath house in Palm Springs. The house is called Desert Oasis and it has a large pool, hot tub, nicely landscaped grounds, an outdoor grill and came fully stocked with beach towels, a blender, and lots of cocktail glasses – perfect for hot, lazy, leisurely afternoons. The only problem we encountered was a slight electrical problem with the hot tub and pool which took until Monday to be fixed, but the owners Hillary and Max were very accommodating and in exchange for our troubles, offered us a free night which we happily agreed too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Nightly (three night minimum): $250-$400

Weekly: $1400-$3000

Monthly: $2900-$4900

Other accommodation recommendations:

Some friends stayed at Tony Curtis’ pad. Very chic.

And lots of friends stayed at the very hip Ace Hotel.
