Cliktrips likes the beach, palm trees, mountain hikes, desertscapes, forest walks, the jungle, tropical islands, swimming pools, lake swims, rocky seaside cliffs, sunsets, soundbaths, hot tubs, the occasional cold plunge, bicycle rides, road trips, spritzes of all kinds, lots of snacks and the colors pink and green. Cliktrips also enjoys late night techno parties, balearic rooftop hangs, weird weekenders, tropical sounds, trippy disco, and dancing ‘til dawn.

FROM THE ARCHIVES

Originally published May 2010

Renovated in 2009, and located in Venice Beach, the Hotel Erwin is a stylish, surf inspired hotel that sits directly on the beach.

The rooms are artfully decorated with a mix of 60s kitsch, graffiti, and modern furniture and amenities. There is a nice, little restaurant called Hash in the lobby that serves “farm fresh” cuisine and comfort foods with a California twist, and a rooftop lounge called High with a good cocktail menu and sweeping views of Muscle Beach, Los Angeles and the Hollywood sign (on a clear day!).

It’s chic and chill, just how we like it.

Rates start at $229/night, but if you have a good travel agent, you can get it for $150/night.
