Ledges Hotel in the Pocono Mountains

The Ledges Hotel is a modern retreat carved out of an old glass factory and perched on the side of a waterfall over the Wallenpaupack Creek in the Pocono Mountains. The building was originally built in 1890 and reopened as a relaxed, eco-friendly hotel in 2011.
The hotel is well-designed with a mix of rustic and modern elements inside and out. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet with platform beds and furniture made of reclaimed wood, flat screen TVs, rain showers, large factory windows and high ceilings. The rooms are great, but the best part of the hotel is the multi-level wooden decks overlooking the waterfall in the back. There are plenty of loungers, tables and cozy corners to retreat too where you can soak up the sun or curl up with your favorite book while taking in the panoramic creek side views. There is also a popular wine bar on site called Glass which serves a nice selection of wines, cheeses and small plates.
Located in Hawley, PA in the Pocono Mountains, the Ledges Hotel is about a two hour drive from New York City. Rates vary between $110-$325 a night depending on room type and dates. Hint: Get the “contemporary” room for $110/night during the week.
