Cliktrips likes the beach, palm trees, mountain hikes, desertscapes, forest walks, the jungle, tropical islands, swimming pools, lake swims, rocky seaside cliffs, sunsets, soundbaths, hot tubs, the occasional cold plunge, bicycle rides, road trips, spritzes of all kinds, lots of snacks and the colors pink and green. Cliktrips also enjoys late night techno parties, balearic rooftop hangs, weird weekenders, tropical sounds, trippy disco, and dancing ‘til dawn.

Sunset Beach is a former low budget motel from the Sixties that has been magically transformed in a hip beach resort by Andre Balazs

Located on Shelter Island near NYC, it’s a nice mid-week retreat accessible by public transportation or car (LIRR and a short ferry ride). We say “mid-week” because the prices jump sharply on the weekends and so does the partying, late night and fashionable crowds which can make it a bit annoying if you’re not in the mood.  During the week, it’s cheaper, less crowded and quite charming. The property is located directly on the beach and offers open air dining in their French style cafe, free bikes, free parking, a boutique and plenty of activities. The hotel has a nice, chill vibe and a decent mix of retro chic and modern charm.

Rates start around $225/night during the week, and jump to $300 and up on the weekends.
